Du Vin or Not Du Vin
Today was all about going into Birmingham to cash in my girls birthday present from last year. Her best friend had bought her a voucher for hotel Du Vin which is a lovely place to dine. We took the train in so we could both drink and on arrival started wondering round the shops, it is now I should say the girlfriend went on to spend, spend, spend but it turns out I would triumph in this particular shopping trip.
The apple store was too inviting not to go in so ended up buying a new case for the iPad, then got a bargain on some half price boots for my trip to Budapest (practical but smart). Claire failed to part with any money so we decided to go for a late lunch, much to our disappointment the hotel du vin pub was closed so we decided we'd eat in the bistro knowing it would be a little more expensive but we were there and it would have been ashamed not to. To our horror they had just closed for lunch and evening meals wouldn't be available for another 2 hours - EPIC FAIL! We are going to go back in two weeks to use the voucher.
Out of luck at our first food destination we headed for the Lost And Found pub which too offers very nice food. The corridor to the toilets in this venue is very trippy and rather long (reminded me of Alice In Wonderland) so it makes the blip today.
