Blessed are those who hunger and thirst

WARNING - LOTS OF THINKING OUT LOUD AND WONDERING!


In a season of decadence and indulgence I just read a study about how to hunger and thirst is a good thing, a blessed thing that helps us strive for justice, freedom and love, strive for God's Kingdom here on earth.

I have been doing the 5:2 diet since Easter last year and I can really understand what the study is saying when it talks about when we fast and allow ourselves to be hungry it helps us focus on the good things. (My favourite meals are my fast day meals, they feel wholesome and good.)

So I want to be hungry for the good things of God's word, for righteousness in this world, peace and justice, these are the things I want to have an appetite and passion for.

Great sermon today about fanning into flame my passion for the Gospel, incredible challenge if asked what would people say my passion was for. A challenge to pedal on the tagalong and be active in the blessings that God wants to give to me and others through me.

Lord, may my appetite for life involve an appetite for a world
where no one goes without.
