Nodafone..

..living in an isolated village in the Scottish Highlands has many benefits. It also has drawbacks. Our broadband signal is limited to 500 b/s, which means we cannot watch video clips without it hanging a few times, normally about every 10 seconds. Watching BBC iPlayer is not possible, even e-mails with attachments fail to get through as it times out before the message is complete.

Our Vodafone mobile signal stopped mid December, after a storm that also cut off the electric. It was fixed for a couple of days, but ceased again on 19th December. It's not worked since. I've not been able to make calls, or send texts, or receive the same since then. Vodafone say they have engineers looking into it, but.. Modern day services that most people take for granted..

You can see the transmitter aerial on the hill through the rain washed window. Taken at 3:55 pm, the street lights are already on. The camera was on a tripod, the bluriness caused by rain on the window..

Spent the day taking down the Christmas decorations, and giving the house a good clean..

I don't know where Simac thinks my Queen is, but it's somewhere different to where I think it is!!..
