Young, hopeful, happy and striving

i spent a wonderful day at a friend's place today, among a group of young people who are in their last year at high school (they sit university entrance exams this year)

we enjoyed a proper feast of pork chops, lamb stew, roast potatoes, salads, stuffed peppers, spianach pastries and pilafi rice

while their parents were complaining about how badly the year will be in economic terms, they were saying how glad they were that things were changing

they clearly have longer-term goals in mind than their olds...
