The King of Dance

Today is "Heilig Drei König" or Holy Three Kings or Epiphany and is marked in catholic Bavaria by children visiting the houses collecting money for charity and writting a blessing over the door - see last years Blip or Wiki.

They normally come around 10:00 and I had everything ready this year, money, chocolates, the camera and even washed away the "3" of 2013 and swished away as many spiderwebs as I could reach. Waited and waited - nothing! And they didn't turn up, the first time in 12 years. I wonder what we have (not) done? Not surprising as it is a large effort to bus the children out to us. Shame though.

Instead the King of Dog Dance came to visit for the first time this year - MrB doing his Michael Jackson impression and the dogs loving it.

Had a cup of coffee & left over christmas Stollen outside and caught up on the news. Many will be glad to hear it's a bad time for hunting, it's too warm, the deer not having a problem finding food. Apparently some of the ladies in a daily early morning walkers group don't want to use the track behind our house as wild boars have recently been seen there. He can't "help" as it's not his patch.

MrB reckons the second bee colony which I think is "dead" could still be alive, more on the Bee Journal .

For the Bavarians, it's back to work tomorrow. Hope all those who have the first day behind them already, managed a reasonable commute, I suppose the weather was the main topic in the office. I guess the north east US offices are pretty empty. With our forecast +10°C this week, it's like spring even if the ground is still frozen.
