Under our noses
She isn't an eagle, tui or hawk but a common sparrow. It was a beautiful day and I spent a lot of time sitting on the veranda drinking tea and chatting with a friend who came over. But I also spent time watching these guys devoring the bread I threw out.
There is a complex (pardon the pun) pecking order where the younger have to become quick to get anything as the older/bigger ones muscle in.
Then the larger birds such as the myna and red wattles come in and bully everyone.
My grateful is that I am not at work for another 2 weeks :)
