Hyacinth Orchid
I got a note from the secretary of the Friends of Belair National Park last night, telling me that the hyacinth orchids (Dipodium roseum) are out.
Of course, any other plans for alternative blips were abruptly shelved and we went looking for this fairly common but very pretty orchid.
Saw one within 30 seconds of arriving at the appointed spot. They generally flower in December - a little bit late this season.
I think this might be the final entry into Cathaber's Sound Illustration challenge. This is a tiny little clip of an orchid hunter somewhere in Australia. It's not so much the sound - which is ok - but the vision is very like where my little orchid was growing.
Pretty
The Rower saw a stupendous bracket fungus high up in a Eucalypt, but despite my best endeavours, I can't ID it.
