It's a funny, old world. The two friends I met yesterday had just come back from India. Clearly both had found the experience moving and life-enhancing. They spoke of the incredible poverty they had seen but also of the richness of life there. They were incredulous at scenes on the Ganges, watching people bathe, scrub cattle, clean clothes, scatter ashes and drink the water.

Here in North-east Scotland we have an abundance of clean, pure water - free from the tap. Yet at school we fight daily to encourage the kids to abandon highly coloured, caffeine rich, energy drinks. This painting was done by an art teacher we had for a while and has pride of place in our base. We can't change what pupils do outside, but with us it's water only!
