Winter peacock

Today's the day ........................... to end in tears

Not mine - although it did make me feel sad - but probably this beautiful Peacock butterfly's.

Will was clearing out the garage when he disturbed it hiding underneath an old table. I didn't think that butterflies lived through the winter unless they were in pupate form? Perhaps it hatched out too early because we've really had an unusually mild winter so far?

It stayed for a while looking wistfully out of the pane of glass in the door. Then when somebody opened the door unaware that that's where it was - off it went into the unknown ............................
