Sigfús Eymundsson photographer
Went to photo exhibition today on the work of an icelandic photographer, Sigfús Eymundsson (1837-1911). He studied photography in Norway and then worked for a while in Copenhagen before he moved back to Iceland. In 1867 he opened the first commercial studio in Reykjavík, Iceland.
The exhibition was mostly on his photos of Icelandic landscape and street shots. Very interesting historicly vice. He mostly used wet plates but was the first photographer in Iceland to import dry plates.
