The first snowdrops....
Its always a great sign that winter is drawing to a close and that spring is on its way, when the first snowdrops appear in the garden - my wife spotted them the other day and I decided to wait to today to blip them.
It is a wonderful reminder that throughout the long winter months when nothing seems to be growing, under the soil the plants are getting ready to burst forth in the spring time.
Now I am sure there will still be a "bite" in this winter (in fact I am still hoping for a good few days of snow - firstly for getting some decent images but secondly to get some sledging done!!) but it is good to know that the days are getting longer and the first flowers of the year are "waking up" and enjoying the fresh sunlight of a new year!
