Door to nowhere?

I spotted this door in a wall at the first mile marker for the Chester half marathon that I measured this morning.

I am intrigued by its size and position.

There are houses above the wall in which the door is positioned but they appear to be more recent than the wall and door.

The measurement was a cold affair today with a very cold wind. But the sun was very nice.

After we had finished the organiser treated us to tea and cake at the Eureka Cafe, a well known and very busy cycling cafe.

So Chester has an accurate half marathon and The North of England also has a newly trained course measurer.

A very satisfying weekend.
