Diary of an Edinburgher

All shelves intact

The crashing shelf from yesterday is still intact. It is supporting some small, light novels - in the literary and literal sense - and is still attached to the wall.

Off to physio this morning. I started by admitting that I had not being doing my exercises three times a day as instructed, but had been doing some of them, and certainly more than before physio. She tested my arms, which are sore too, but not today - I’m on those big pink pills again. I was trying to pinpoint where and when exactly they were sore, but everything she tried, they were fine. We gave up.

But I got what I really wanted, and what I think will be much more use - a referral from them to the gym. I still have to pay, but it’s a reduced rate. I think the weights and things for strengthening leg muscles will be much better than me sitting on the sofa watching TV and lifting my legs every now and again.

I walked down Lothian Road looking for inspiration. None. My bus just left the stop, which meant I had half an hour to kill/spare. So I wandered round the graveyard. It’s so green with moss, and when the sun shines on it, it’s bright green. I used my ‘drama’ filter in the camera, which always looks better on the screen than it does when I get it on the computer.

And so I popped in to the gym on my way home. Strike while the iron is hot. I heard myself saying that 8am tomorrow for my introductory lesson would be fine...

And I’ve just noticed all that lovely kindling in the graveyard!
