The actor playing the part of Feldzieg in The Drowsy Chaperone has hurt his back and can't stand upright, let alone perform in today's dress rehearsal. So an experienced actor friend is called upon and is there bright and early at the theatre for this morning's run, word-perfect, having learnt the part overnight.
