View across the Potomac River, Alexandria, VA

Today I was in Washington DC and it was a wet, dark and grey day. It would have been a perfect day to spend in one of the Smithsonian museums. But no, I decided instead to be outside and visit the historic town of Alexandria, Virginia!

I took many pictures, and perhaps I should be posting something that shows the beauty and history of colonial Alexandria. But there's something about this one that makes me want to share it. I like the bleak view as well as the charm of the seagulls just sitting there patiently. Maybe they're enjoying the rain?

I'm sure I'll be visiting Alexandria again, and will most likely post another blipfoto from there.
