To be sure to be sure

I have a dreadful tendency to over-buy when I'm having people in. Such was the case two weeks ago when I entertained next-door-neighbour Susan's children.

Only when I returned home form one of my shopping expeditions did I realise that I already had more than a full bottle of gin in the house. That was after I'd bought these two (two of then because they're 'only' 50ml rather than the usual 70, or even full litre, that I'd usually get).

So here they still are, as unopened as the day they were bought. Ah well, at least I'll be able to entertain all the gin drinkers in the avenue.
