Flight
The morning involved continued work on the poster before sending it off to print. Very satisfying, I think I'm quite happy with the design and content!
Sud, Mahfood and me hit up Broven for a baguette, where we ran into Dhruva, and observed a bunch of people wearing shades and high-vis jackets acting bizarrely around campus. After visiting Erin briefly, I got a call from my boy Rowan to see if I wanted to play around with his hexacopter. Yeahhh buddy. Dropped by Tocil, visiting Orla, Sam and the others on the way, making plans for the big Saturday. Then Rowan and me went to the barbecue field to mess around with the hexacopter he built over Christmas for his project. Legit the coolest thing ever, he definitely had one of the most superior project roles this year! We stuck a gopro on the copter and here's a frame from a video we took. Massive fun, especially piloting the thing around! A phd guy called Gil saw what we were up to and joined us casually, which reminded me of the time I ran into the chemistry freshers who built a cannon back in second year, also on the barbecue field. They let me try the thing, which was hilarious, firing potatoes 50 metres away! Speaking of which, the barbecue field is also where Photosoc does steel wool photography. I guess that's where everyone goes to test out their creations and experiments that might appear dodgy (read: dangerous)!
