The Wheat Train" ...

...We caught up with this Wheat train at the nearby town we visited today at the end of the line where there is a big Wheat Terminal..and it's all ready now to load up the tonnes of (mainly) wheat and barley from the nearby properties, to travel back down the line again with its load to Geelong, near Melbourne, where there is a big wheat shipping terminal..

...At least 80 containers passed us - they just went on and on - and in another photograph, I stood where I was so close that I could smell the grease from the stuffing boxes (for the axels) on this 39deg.C day, and watched them all pass by and it always stirs up memories for both of us really, John having worked for the railways years ago..

...The rail employees you can see are waiting for the train to clear the points so that they can shunt the rail trucks off to where they can be loaded..

...By the look of one of them - he's possibly wondering what that crazy lady with the camera is doing down the end of the line...oh well, I have my train blip for you today...

...It wasn't too hot out there actually..I had a hat on - and it's always nice to hear the wheat trains pass by..and at least we could SEE it pass by this time..there will be many more as the crops have been good this year..there's no given time to see them so we were happy to see this one, at least..
