misty layer sandwich

I couldn't get out for a walk until mid-day and during that time I had noticed the mist creeping insidiously further down towards the house. By the time i left with the dogs eager to run free the most had enveloped everything in sight and it was only as the car drove up onto higher ground that I realised that it was only a layer, albeit a fairly deep one. During the walk I took a number of photos wishing for the sun to appear to give a bit of colour and relief to the greyness - and then it did. it was a thought to return to the greyness after the time in the clear air above but a check up with the dentist beckoned!
