'Warm Beach', not so warm today

First visit to the cabin of the new year. 40 degrees, dry and a gorgeous fog surrounded us today and seemed to light everything up despite the lack of sun. Spent a lot of time talking about memories of GiGi as this is "Grandma's Cabin" and it's only been a few months since she passed away. As we pulled into the driveway I said to my 5 year old, "I miss GiGi." Without hesitation, he said to me "Mom, she's right here with us, she's in our hearts". Wow, powerful words of wisdom from my faithful son that pulled me right out of my funk.
Played baseball on the beach, threw the frisbee, went on short walk and then decided it was time to get our frozen fingers back home. Looking forward to nicer weather and more time at this family retreat.
