Elliðaárdalur

Me and my sister went out looking for a good place to go for a hike. We drove up to this lake on the outskirt of town but as we drove down this road to a parking lot we realised that the road, which was covered in ice, was too slippery for the tires to handle.

Needless to say, the car glided down this little hill towards the parking lot and we were sure we wouldn't make it up again. Especially after watching a similar car sliding sideways in an attempt to drive up the small hill.

We started talking to the couple and offered our help. While we talked to the wife the man made another attempt and made it up. He then came walking back down and offered to drive my car up. He was successful in the first try.

We were just happy to not be stuck there anymore so we drove off to a safer place to hike from where the photo is taken :)
