Fishing
After a long sleep and a large breakfast we headed off up the Water of Leith. I had been sitting down, either in trains or meeting rooms, for about three days, so really needed some fresh air and a walk, before I lost the use of my lower limbs entirely.
As we came round the bend towards the weir I wondered if the heron would be standing there as he often is - he wasn't, but this crow was standing close by in a little side streamlet apparently fishing. He was certainly standing with his legs in the stream, watching intently. Maybe he'd been observing the heron - they're clever birds. Crows, that is - not herons. ;-)
I've seen some strange avian behaviour on the Water of Leith before, but this was an new one on me.
