Dean Bridge At The Golden Hour
I am not a religious man, but I do enjoy the paraphernalia of Victorian christianity, especially the wonderfully over the top churches and hymns of that time.
Today, as this church near Dean Bridge in Edinburgh was bathed in golden hour light, I thought of Lesley Garrett's wonderful recording of "The Holy City" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyyldeYrqLc). The contrasting light, the intricately building bathed in golden sunlight seemed perfect for a powerful soprano fronting a symphony orchestra and powerful church organ shaking the floor with its massive bass notes.
On the technical side, this is a five-shot HDR merged with Photomatix, then a bit more processing to balance out the church with the rest of the shot.
