Amalia

Meet Amalia. She is going to be working as an Associate with my current employer, The Guild, on a project looking at cultural competency particularly with day centres who have clients living with dementia. Very interesting stuff.

She needed some photos taking for her new website so my boss suggested that I go along and do the deed.

I'd not met her before so, as an ice breaker, I asked her about her recent visit to her family in South Africa which purely by accident coincided with the announcement of the death of Nelson Mandela and his funeral, and asked her to describe what the atmosphere was like.

It sounded amazing, and she said that she felt really privileged to have been there at that historic time.

Thank you all for your comments on my portrait of Eva Schloss yesterday. It was a difficult environment to take photos in, as there was no natural light and I'm still getting to grips with my new camera.
