Beach life
It was a promised and needed day off today so early his morning I found a seat in the shade at the end of Copocabana beach and engaged in my favourite hobby, people watching. I watched a young athlete and his coach, an exercise class, a father and son paying football using flip flops as goal posts. I hundreds as they walked, ran, jogged, skipped, cycled, scooted, rollerbladed and sauntered along the prom, they were all ages, shapes, sizes, colours and nationalities.
I saw two gorgeous little Brazilian children go for a swim with their guinea pigs who looked a little bedraggled afterwards but didn't seem any worse fir the experience.
The rest of the day was spent catching up with ourselves and having lots of conversations without interruptions of the phone, emails etc. using the words of Gen Peron from Evita, it was a day of cocktails on the terrace and breakfast in bed.
In the evening we went back to the beach and watched different people doing different things but all if them appearing to enjoy beach life here in Rio.
Today another mountain, another forest.
It will be sad to say goodbye to this life but a very different, but great life back home beckons. Until then there's still more to enjoy in Brazil, hope you're enjoying the ride too!
