The Lakes in 3D

One of the great places to visit on these shores of ours is the Lake District and every year - along with my parents - we try and get down for a weeks visit - usually either May or September...and we stay just outside Keswick in a wonderful wee village called Millbeck.

Over the time that we have been there, there has been this wonderful 3D map of the lakes hanging on the stair wall and every time I pass it, I always look at the hills climbed or the ones that have still to be tackled.

You get a brilliant perspective with the map being in 3d and yes it almost brings the place to life.

Last year it was my dad's 70th birthday and along with my sister, we decided to club together and get him a copy of his own - and here it is hanging on the wall.

we are back down there later on in the year and already my dad is deciding what hill should be attempted..as for me I'm just considering where is a good place to get some cracking photos!!...might just get a few tips from John
