Tourist Route
After breakfast headed to Gloucester Road Tube which is a couple of minutes from our hotel to Covent Garden. Weather was lovely for January, dry and mild and there was plenty going on with many street performers entertaining the crowds. I like the buzz of the place. We were heading to the box office in Leicester Square to pick up a discounted ticket for a show in the evening. After a nice coffee and cake stop, headed of to the tube to Westminster.
I don't think there is a finer parliamentary building in the world than our Houses of Parliament and the surrounding area. Walked round to the Abbey and then checked out all the statutes before heading over the bridge for our walk down the South Bank. It was very busy at the Eye, lots of street performers too but the crowds thinned out the further we walked.
Stopped to listen to this girl, she had a beautiful soulful voice, something about the way she sang this particular song touched my soul. The setting as well, it was beautiful.
Over tower bridge, and by that time the lights in the buildings surrounding the Thames were on and we stopped to take it all in. Its a magnificent sight.
Tube to Leicester Square and some food before heading to the theatre - the performance was fantastic and was buzzing when got out and we headed back to our hotel.
I love London!
