The one that got away!

What a day! It began with a leisurely drive taking no2 daughter to work as her own car was in the garage. Took my blip pal with me as we had some free time & decided to go on our own mini blip & thought Kilchurn Castle on Loch Awe would be a good place to start.
When I left daughter at her work I had a feeling she was looking a bit peaky but said nothing. Off my hobbit pal & I went taking all manner of photos of Kilchurn some of which I was well pleased with, on the way back I checked my phone a few times expecting a call from youngest but all was quiet! We also stopped at a spectacular waterfall. We were going to stop at Inveraray for a coffee but I decided to press on home knowing that time was ticking & my pal had to pick her son up from school.
Arrived home only to find my new toy had arrived. With the photographic voucher from my work I was able to buy a tamron 18-200 lens for my wee Nikon. Was busy playing with it when the phone rang....yep, youngest fledgling wasn't feeling well so off I set (with new lens on camera) got to Inveraray to go onto the back road to Dalmally only to be stopped by one of Strathclyde's finest telling me there was an accident on that road & it was closed. No I couldn't go via Crianlarich as A82 was shut at Pulpit Rock so there was nothing for it but to turn back, drive to Oban and down to Dalmally that way! What a bloody hike!
Finally got there & picked up sickly daughter and managed to get back via the back road as it was by now open. On the way back I passed two other accidents! What a day.
I decided on this photo taken on my new toy in Inverary as it reminded me of an original painting by a chap called Richard Ackerman I bought my pal as a wedding gift in 1979. I bought the Ackerman & another oil of some sheep but unsigned. For some stupid reason I gave my pal the Ackerman and now an original is worth far more than the £54 I paid for it and my pal is fair chuffed. His marriage didn't last but he made sure he took the Ackerman. So every time I see it I think of the one that got away.
Enjoy. By the way finally the damn meter man came and replaced the meter.
