If you can't beat them...

Subtitle Hexham Hospital again.

I have had three appointments before my op. Two are detailed here and were basically the reason for me starting to actively blip rather than being a guest.

So to day the rather cryptic code I have used for the title turned out to be a 1hour "class" with a physiotherapist. There was a room full of us old wrinklies all with defective hips.

So after checking that we were actually there and they had a record of the correct leg and correct surgeon we had an informative hour about what would happen while we were in hospital, what we should be doing before and what things would be like and what to do after the op.

I can't say it made me any less apprehensive but it was reassuring rather than sacrey or off-putting.

On the blip front it had poured down on the drive over and so I wasn't expecting much in the way of nice shots. However by the time we had finished the sun was shining. The "class" was held in the a room at the top of the round tower in the link above. This gave an intriguing view across a roof top with the tower of the Abbey contrasting with the modern architecture of the hospital. Got out my camera and switched it on. Nothing! Absolutely zilch, not a flicker, no movement what soever. Completely flat battery. I had charged it last night in preparation so what had gone wrong I don't know.

Fortunately clickychick offered me the use of her Canon. I never realised you needed to weight train to be a photographer! So I took the roof shot, some of the girders in the porch, an interesting frieze running round the outside of the building.but the curve of the building against the blue sky won.

13 days and counting.
