Art Museum dome, Parc du Cinquantenaire
I took a stroll in Parc du Cinquantenaire after a meeting in the EU quarter today, and despite the bitter cold and my flimsy jacket it was nice to embrace the sun for a little while. Parc du Cinquantenaire or Jubelpark, as it is referred to in Flemish, is probably the first recognisable landmark that you will pick out on a map of Brussels (or on Google Earth, if you are a map geek like me) because it's the biggest urban green space in the city centre proper and looks a bit like a house lying on its side. The park is home to a few museums, including the Art Museum, whose dome proved to be a worthy subject for today's photo assignment.
