dark hills above the horizon
I have blipped before of the joy of the ephemeral. Sunrise and sunset can be over so quickly you wonder whether you really saw anything. I see this as a parallel to our own lives which are but a flash in the long history of the earth. Enjoy it while it lasts. I was delighted with the dark hills above the horizon this morning, temporary though they were. They were wonderfully shaped, perhaps they were barrows and they had such glorious curved profiles. They floated in such a realistic manner too, and I was filled with an urge to walk to them. These dark clouds dissipated as the colour drained from the sky and I stood wondering what I had been looking at.
