Burns Night
A very happy Burns Night to all Blippers of a Scots persuasion - may your night be full of neeps, tatties, cranachan and sheeps' innard!
Some obliging contrails this morning.
John and I spent all Burns Night 1995 stuck in snow on the M62; at one point I ran across a field, knee deep in snow (wearing court shoes) to knock on a very bewildered stranger's front door and beg to use the loo. We had a packet of Extra Strong Mints to survive on. (I recall being quite relieved that we were missing the Burns supper we had been invited to as I didn't want to eat the haggis.) Our friend Liz was also stuck and she used someone's car phone to call her husband - I thought this technology was so amazing - how times have changed.
We passed the time by listening to the commentary on the Man Utd Crystal Palace game - the very game when Eric Cantona decided to do a bit of Kung Fu on a Palace fan. What a night! Got home at about 5am after leaving the office in Leeds at 6pm the previous night.
I wonder if any other Yorkshire Blippers were stuck that night.
