Photorealism

Photorealism is one of the best exhibitions that I've seen at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery in a long time. Further details here

Photorealism began in the late 1960's in America with painters creating works that, on first glance, look like photographs. I was expecting a show that would be dominated by pictures of American cars and diners, so was surprised by the image of Venice for instance.

(and then I started to think about photographing the paintings that were meant to look like photographs....) and then (the tricky part), working them all in to one of those triptychs I got from a recent camera magazine.
