Angle of refraction

Physics, blah blah blah. That's what happened in my school days and hence the O Level E Grade, I mean when was I ever going to use physics in future life. Roll forward thirty years and voila (when I will I ever need French?), I'm using the effects of bending light and reflecting off a mirror to take a photograph for the Weekly Blip Challenge.

I don't believe there is any Geography in this photo - when on earth am I ever going to use Geography?
