Australia Day 2014

4years 98days

Katie decided a while ago that even though nursery weren't celebrating Australia Day this year that she would mark it herself. So today she wore her Australia skirt and top and chose her "Adelaide the flying kangaroo" book to take with her.

Before she went to nursery we went swimming. Today was a "baby book" moment. Today she did her first swim without going in the learner pool at all. Today she swam 22 lengths of the 25m pool. Her first swim teacher saw her today and said seeing Katie like that made her want to cry. She really found her confidence, not only swimming but playing too. She was jumping in, swimming herself safely back to the side and climbing out too. And her technique is translating in to the big pool now too. She's very proud of herself!!

I dropped her off in time for nursery lunch. When I returned for her they said she'd been into everything today, a little whirlwind of bouncy energy. They had read her book as a class story.

We had tea together at home and played hungry caterpillar snap. She was a tired little pickle and asked to sleep in mamas bed tonight. Stories, prayers and snuggles followed. I may have sat there for a few minutes just cuddling a whole longer!
