We have the technology to rebuild it..
An incident with a neighbour's cat coming into our house in the small hours of the morning when the catflap lock was unwittingly set on 'incoming only', resulted in pandemonium, a terrified neighbour's cat that couldn't get out, a cat flap hanging off the door in pieces and another disturbed night's sleep!
Today I learnt all about the inner workings of the cat flap and was very happy that I was able to rebuild it and replace it in the door looking almost like new (save for a few extras dents and scratches!). With temperatures dropping this week - having a gaping hole in the door where the cat flap used to be, would have been a bit of a problem!
But calm has been restored.. and I think the neighbour's cat was so traumatised at finding itself locked in our house that I doubt it will be back :-)
