Early morning walk

This morning I had a practice walk with Freckle, Lottie and their mistress prior to house-sitting for them in February.

This was the view looking towards the village of Drymen with Conic Hill and snowy mountains in the background. We were lucky that it was dry for most of the walk.

I have already had a practice run with the hens and ducks. Not literally a run - just shutting them up for the night and feeding them. My reward was the three newly-laid eggs that I gathered at the same time.

There is always a lot of preparatory information to ask about and take in before the first stint of a new house-sit, as this one will be, and I get the owners to write down everything they think I need to know about the animals and the running of the house. Quite often it's surprising what they omit...

Tonight I may watch another dvd since nothing on tv appeals. "American Hustle" or "The Railway Man"? I've heard of both but know nothing about either. Any recommendations?
