Adrenaline rush

A rare treat today. On a car launch drive with Honda we went to Rockingham circuit in Northamptonshire. It is not often that the opportunity comes to be driven around a race track at competitive speed by a motor racing ace: three times British Touring Car Champion Matt Neal. Needless to say, I grabbed it.

Tightly strapped into the left-hand seat of the race-spec Honda Civic, the scenery became a kaleidoscope of rushing sensations as the car hurtled brutally through the bends. Braced against the structure and clinging to a roll-bar, it wasn't easy to grab any usable shots, and most came out as a random blur. But somehow this one worked, even though it doesn't quite convey how remarkably rapidly we were moving ...

Hours later, I'm still smiling. Some adrenaline rush!
