Morning sun on the Matterhorn

This is the morning view from the balcony of our hotel room. Beau Rivage is a boutique hotel owned by Max Julen, the 1984 Olympic champion in Giant Slalom. We are being very well taken care of here.

It was a perfect day to ski! The sun was shining and the snow was great. We are so lucky to be here.

There is an impressive interconnected network of ski lifts and gondolas in the Zermatt area that transports skiers to many different peaks. So, we explored a bit and even took the cable car to Italy. As it was late in the day, we skied back to the Swiss side of the mountain, but weather permitting, we will be skiing in Italy later in the week.

More fondue for dinner this evening. The restaurants in Zermatt are superb! Maybe a little too good...
