Exploring!

Yesterday had been a bit of a disaster as far as the dogs were concerned, today they were hoping for a good, long walk. So I decided to give them a treat, go somewhere new. We had been to the Redcastle Estate once before but that had been at least 2 years ago so it was relatively new for all of us.

Redcastle is a beautiful hamlet on the Beauly Firth. It is so well cared for and has stunning views across the firth. I would think that the road between Redcastle and Charlestown is one of the loveliest in the Highlands. We had such a peaceful afternoon walking along some of the paths on the Estate where the dogs could race about to their hearts content and then along the road so that I could take photos and just stand and feast my eyes on the beauty of the firth with the mountains in the background.

I met just 3 other walkers, one of whom told me about another way into the Estate, so on the way home we drove along the side of the firth and found the path she was talking about. We explored this path for a while and I was able to work out a circular walk using this path and the one we had previously been on, so that's for another day.
