To Follow One's Advice

I have found from experience explained here that it is important to keep an eye on the bees at this time of year.

That is because they can run out of food very quickly. So I look at them about once a week at the moment.

I do not go inside the hives as such, because the weather is far too cold for that, but merely lift the hive lid and check that they have a supply of fondant or candy as beekeepers call it.

This hive was running short so some more candy was put on in an ex takeaway container that is upturned over the feed hole.

The bees never knew that anything had happened.
