More Smoke Than Fire

I was trying to get rid of the woody and half-woody garden waste; the stuff I can't compost. But everything's so wet a job that should have taken a couple of hours or so went on all day and I've still not got rid of all of it.
It's a good thing my neighbours are far enough away not to be worried by smoke!
