Snowed In

It's because of days like today that I used to take off during the month of January to escape to some warm, tropical place, like the Philippines or the Caribbean. A "polar vortex" dropped sub-freezing temperatures and (supposedly) 5" of snow on us today. For the first time, the weekly run was canceled. But, my roommate & I still wanted to go for a walk. So, we bundled up and made the trek for some soup, coffee, and hot chocolate. It was the perfect way to spend a blustery, winter evening.

Apparently, he was also snowed in, in front of a cozy fireplace, of which he sent me a photo. I knew he had started dating someone, so if this was his way of rubbing it in my face, then well-done. I was jealous, indeed. Earlier, he had teased me with cravings of candy and video games, so I was hoping he would come over to my place. But, he didn't. Why would he raise my hopes of a visit, then not tell me where he ended up instead?

Alas, what a cruel game, this is. Why must he torment me so much? :(
