Hello up there!

I'm not sure what bird you are (I thought possibly a type of toucan, but they are normally much bigger), but no doubt I will find out! I wonder if any other blippers know?


Later, a friend on my facebook account tells me this is a 'Java Sparrow' :)

On such a dull day, I just had to get out of the house, so after a decent lie in for once I collected camera and tripod (which in the event I couldn't use) and headed off to the local Living Rainforest :) It was lovely and warm up there and I had a good time :) I haven't been there for many years actually! I will be back again sometime soon..

(Apart from the masses of children, it was a successful visit (apparently they have 100 on every school trip, pushing past and shoving...not enough teacher control! Sorry any teachers out there))

The number of birds I saw that I don't know the name of was amazing and I saw a sloth for the first time in my life ever :) See more in flickr! Maybe you can name a few ;)

I'm on a mission to find out more...

Went to fill up with petrol on the way home and now I'm thankfully indoors. The weather is turning very nasty out there with heavy rain and strong winds!

Like some other blippers I am suffering joint pain with this continuing cold, wet weather...especially in my hip, knee and wrists at the moment...

In other news 'Something' is eating the fat ball I put on the tree for the birds...from the bottom upwards, hoping it isn't a rat....
