Not as long ago as it looks

What a rotten day, cold, wet and we all seem a bit worn down and frayed at the edges. Not a day for being outside long so I scanned some old photos today with mixed success but enjoyed seeing some from an Isle of Arran holiday in 1988.

There were many of the Paddle Steamer Waverley as it arrived at Brodick - some were very good and clearly taken on a sunny day but this one was either poorly exposed or taken on a different day ( probably the former ) I doubt if the Waverley visited again ( or was it two stops in one day ?)

But I liked the photo so much I thought I would tried to revive it a bit and then I decided to take it back in time a little and give it a bit of a vintage look.

Quite pleased with the result. So, not a photo taken today in the true sense and yet it has never existed like this until today - have I bent the rules ?
