Waves crashing

Not a bad day but still quite dull for photography. We went to the farm shop to buy some veg for the weekend and made a slight detour to see how the ploughing competition was going. There were several big tractors in the field with large ploughs and nice rows of newly turned soil. Plenty of snow must have fallen on higher ground over night as there was quite a covering and looked like more to come.
The tide was right in and I have never seen the harbours so full before. There's a red boat in Avoch that was floating level with the wall and the benches that stand out in the harbour in Fortrose were standing in water.
As we drove along the front in Rosemarkie you could see where the tide had been over the road with sand, seawood and shingle covering it. This campervan was parked right in the way of the waves and was constantly getting a battering. You can see a large stone beside it that had been thrown up ! The waves were coming over the wall as this lady walked past with her dog. I did worry that they might get washed away.
I did see the most remarkable picture taken by Charlie Phillips, our local Dolphin man and photographer, of a man standing on steps that go down to the beach, and at high tide these were almost covered, and he was there fishing with the waves lashing against him, madness ! There was quite a swell and the waves were pulling back on themselves as the crossed so he could easily have been pulled in !
