The Queen's Head

Another cross country Saturday for son 2. Today he was running for his city in the county championships. He had to travel with the team who were meeting outside 'The Queen's Head'.

The Queen's Head is a delightful, ancient, timbered Tudor building hemmed in and hidden on all sides by concrete and glass- offices, car parks and the bus station. It stands as a tiny glimpse of a different world that has survived many changes to the landscape and to the rhythms of life.

A cold few hours of spectating followed the drop off, but it was all worth it, as son 2 came 2nd and was picked to run for his county in the English Schools competition. Another muddy field in another city to look forward to....!
