Gang Gang Safety Watch!
We have had the most joyful couple of days with the Gang Gangs deciding that they really like our watering hole! I have been keeping the bird baths full to the bream!
This magnificent male Gang Gang arrived at around 6.30am and sat on this limb for quite some time. We realise there is a pattern now, the male will come and sit and survey the scene very carefully. It's fascinating to see him looking this way and that and then from nowhere his mate will join him and they simply swoop down to the water. They don't stay for long and you can tell they're still wary but it's a wonderful act that is being played out in front of us.
I'm quite proud of this image and CCN wanted me to mention that it was taken at 30 metres, hand held and from the upstairs window!! :-) I didn't try and crop the image because I love the surrounds. It's the Gang Gang in it's natural environment.
Can anyone tell me the best camera in the world for taking bird images. I guess I just have to check out dbifulco's journal and Sefferdog's to work that out :-) Mind you, the person holding the camera in the first place may have something to do with it!!
Over the last couple of days, I have reflected on what a wonderful thing it is that an event like the Gang Gangs visiting is not just for us to enjoy. Through our Blip journal we can share it with the entire Blipping world. I really love going around the world everyday and following the journey of our fellow Blippers.
I have added some additional images to the Blipfolio - I hope you enjoy!
