Cold Turkey
This morning, the wild turkeys did not enjoy the new chill in the air. Temps dropped dramatically...this blip-hour; it was 17degreesF (-9C). They fluffed and fuffled and, from the color on his head, Aldebaron, King of Somesuch, even flirted a bit. I love these birds and allow no hunting on my property. These boys are quite large and getting on in years. This particular bunch of 6 toms were born on my hill and have stuck together through thick and thin. When all the turkeys appear in the spring, they number about 40-45. The toms follow me and my pup when we walk the hill...Piped Piper of Turkey Hill.
