Doha Days
It rained here today! I took this as I was being driven home from the hospital that finally confirmed that I am fit to live and work here. Now the bureaucratic race is on to see if I can get an exit visa/residence permit so that I can fly home on Thursday!
This building is part of BeIn Sports TV HQ (formerly known as Aljazeera Sport). The roundabout here is called TV because of the sprawling media complex that has grown around this intersection. Qatar is a tiny country. Its population is around 2 million but it hosts a global TV network, has more construction cranes on the horizon than anywhere else in the world at the moment and of course it will stage the football World Cup. It is also Qatar investment that owns London's Shard. I am very impressed by Qatar's vision and commitment.
